Most of the parents are not very happy with the amount of vaccinations that are being given to their children every quarterly or monthly, while some parents have specified their schedule to the doctors. Most of these doctors have agreed to these schedules. Parents are today equally knowledgeable; they are little worried about side effects of vaccinations that are being given to their kids. Immunization is equally an important factor for the health of your babies. Here is a general list of vaccinations that are to be given to your child to protect them from deadly diseases in their adulthood or childhood:
In general, there are nine vaccinations that are to be given routinely to your baby, these can be held under the pre-school immunization program. Other than general vaccinations, doctors also suggest giving your babies BCG and Hepatitis B immunizations, if your babies have higher chances of catching such disease.
Diphtheria–
The Diphtheria vaccine is given to babies at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks. It is given by an injection. The vaccine also contains vaccines for tetanus, Hib, whopping cough and polio. The Diphtheria is suggested by doctors before they start schooling and also between the ages of 13 and 18 years.
Haemophilus Influenzae type b–
is also commonly known by the name Hib, the vaccine is offered to the babies at the age of 8, 12 and 16 weeks. It is given with the help of injection; the vaccine consists of vaccines for polio, diphtheria, cough and tetanus.
Measles–
The vaccines for Measles are given to kids at the age of 12 months and 15 months, the injection is given to the baby that is commonly known by the name MMR. The MMR vaccine also consists of vaccines for mumps and rubella vaccines; with this the babies also get pre-school booster immunization.
Meningitis C–
The Meningitis C immunization vaccines are given to babies at 12 weeks and 16 weeks, the vaccine is given as a separate injection for DTa/IPV/Hib.
Mumps–
The mumps vaccines are given to the babies when they are 12 months and 15 months, the vaccine is given to the kids in the form of injections known as an MMR injections, this also contains immunization for rubella and measles. They are also given pre-school boosters.
Pneumococcal infection–
is commonly known as the PCV vaccines, it is given to the kids at the age of 8 weeks and 16 weeks. This vaccine is given to the kids against pneumococcal infection, the separate PCV injections is given to the kids.
Polio–
The polio vaccines are available to the babies at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age, they are given orally to the children at the same time while they are giving Hib/IPV/DTa injections. It is also given with the meningitis C injection.
Rubella–
The Rubella vaccines are given to the babies when they are 12 months and 15 months of age, the vaccine was introduced in the year 1970, before its invention, there were over 70 cases of congenital rubella syndrome but after its invention there are just 46 cases for the injection and according to the year 1999 report – only one case had been reported. The Rubella vaccine is given along with MMR vaccinations that include the mumps and measles vaccines.
Tetanus–
The Tetanus vaccines are offered to babies at the age of 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks, besides this schedule babies are given tetanus immunization while they are still babies in three doses, other before they start schooling and when they are between 13 and 18 years of age. After the age of five years, babies are said or thought to be fully immunized for lifetime and that they no further receive any boosters.
