Do your babies need vaccination

Some parents really wonder whether do their child really need something called as Vaccination, some parents just go for vaccinations because their parents had done for them while some take advise from doctors. Merely, as we see there are growing incidences of autism, disabilities, etc. some people doubt whether they were really caused by taking vaccinations or taking fewer shots. Pediatricians have recently started noticing that parents make changes to the vaccine schedule, so as to give less amount of shots stretched over a longer period of time. Here are the list of vaccine changes parents want and many pediatricians have agreed to make those changes in the vaccination schedule for the babies:
The discussion below does not list the pros or cons or particular vaccines, nor does it discuss about any links to autism or mental health of a child. They are just the approach suggested by parents and followed by pediatricians
- The first shot of Hepatitis B shot should be delayed according to the parents as Hepatitis B is spread by having sex with an infected partner or by other means of sharing needles or razors or toothbrushes of the infected person. The open sores are also a mean to spread such disease. Initially, Hepatitis B shots were given immediately after the child was discharged from the hospital but parents now suggest to give routinely after the baby is two months old. However, there is exception for mothers who carry Hepatitis B, the babies should immediately receive the Vaccine followed by the treatment.
Some parents believe in not giving some shots at all for the reason they believe that not all the diseases are equal. It is not necessary that if the child is vaccinated he may never get that disease, some are deadly too. Talking to some parents, they said they do not worry chicken pox or rotavirus as much as they were for pertussis and polio diseases. The pediatricians agreed to parents wish but parents should first discuss with child’s doctor about the severity of each disease.- Many parents would want to check for titers in the blood stream of their child, titers are the amount of anti bodies in the blood that provides indication of how much a person is immune to the disease. Children are often given boosters that will boost their immunity from the previous shot and would also give an idea to doctors if they are already immune.
- The parents bring their babies just seven times in the time period of their babies at the age of two months and nine months and giving no two shots together in between.
- Most of the vaccines are available in the combined form, for example, MMR is available for measles, mumps and rubella while DTaP is available for Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis. Not all the doctors have all the three injection, you need to order for separate shots. You should finally consider the needs of the child, would they be comfortable taking combined shots, or if they have some allergies.
